Setting the mark for the biggest opening weekend of the year, as well as Project Hail Mary [PRJHM] scored an estimated $80.58 million to lead the weekend box office.  The debut is also the best ever for Amazon MGM, beating Creed III’s $58.0 million in 2023.  The sci-fi original received an A CinemaScore from a 57% male audience

Warner Bros. has unveiled the teaser trailer for the sci-fi sequel Dune: Part Three [DUNE3] based on the novel Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert and concludes a trilogy of films directed by  Denis Villeneuve [DVILL].  Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh and Rebecca Ferguson reprise their roles from the previous film while Anya Taylor-Joy, and Robert Pattinson join the cast.  Dune: Part Three will arrive in theaters on December 18th.
