New Moon' star Taylor Lautner is getting set to trade in his werewolf duties for the superhero world.

Variety has announced that Lautner has signed on to play the title character in the new action adventure flick, 'Max Steel,' based on a Mattel toy.

The movie tells the story of an extreme sports enthusiast who is recruited by an undercover agency after an accident infects his blood -- making him superhuman.

Lautner can next be seen on the big screen in 'Valentine's Day,' alongside his rumored girlfriend Taylor Swift.
