CelebStock and StarBonds

It's not a "free money" argument. It's about a fair market.

If we were talking stocks in Google, which someday releases an iPhone buster with unlimited free minutes for $50/month, the stock would go through the roof.  There's no cap that says "oh, well, if you invested at $400 a share, you can only realize a benefit up to $450 a share".  That would be considered ridiculous.

Bottom line is that people are going to stop investing in StarBonds and Blockbusters if they can't get their full ROI.  If this thing is ever going to go "real money" people are not going to stand for earnings caps when it affects their wallet.

Your argument that the cap originated when a $250m+ was rare so why change it now that it happens every month is totally erroneous.  In fact, more than ever, now is the time to change it to catch up with the times.

What's with all this "that's the way it's always been" crap on the forums?  Anyone notice the huge site revamp a few weeks ago?  Anything is possible!  Demand it!

DMAC--Please lift $250MM limits DamoVision Aug 11, 00:27

2nd that. Proposed New Cap $300 mill. It can be effective as of 1/1/10, if it takes time to update the system, and only for movies released Oleg Max Aug 11, 06:36

I agree as well. When I started playing a $H250 Mil cap made sense (9 yrs ago) as movies did not reach that number very often... Sabarth Aug 11, 08:27

If the cap was put in place when a $250M+ movie was a once-a-year event, they are hardly likely to get rid of it now it's more common RogerMore Aug 11, 08:32

Invest your excess money in MovieStocks. We're not going "real money" with StarBonds. {nm} Antibody Aug 11, 10:11

Thanks for clearing that part up, DMAC {nm} DamoVision Aug 11, 10:30

Thank you, Oleg Max and Sabarth {nm} DamoVision Aug 11, 09:57

Having a H$100-200 priced StarBond is hardly suffering. You also have to consider the flip side when these films drop out of their TAGs. Antibody Aug 11, 10:09

6 of one, half-dozen of another DMAC DamoVision Aug 11, 10:25

H$60 drop spread over multiple films now would become become $120 or $180 drop over multiple films. {nm} Antibody Aug 11, 10:39

I understand the issue. I just think we should be able to take that risk or reap the H$. Not like the economy depends on StarBonds, right? {nm} DamoVision Aug 11, 10:49

There's no risk parking your money in these guaranteee returns. {nm} Antibody Aug 11, 11:46

Ok, I just read this one. So my rant on Movies Board should be valid here too, if not more. shahnon Aug 11, 10:37
