The Playboy Club is suffering from lackluster casting and it is a period drama which is a tough sell for prime time network slots..
Along with the fact that its an expensive show... And the trailer has me wondering where it could possible go as a series...
Whitney is a gonner even with the incessant pimping. NBC obviously believes in it since they gave it the Office lead in... But, I don't see it (the cast) connecting with enough of an audience to carry the slot... With laugh track shows, the leads need to be strong... Whitney and her boyfriend don't have "it".. whatever "it" is.
Up All Night may actually beat Whitney to the punch though. Aside from the actors appearing to "mail it in"... the trailer gave me headache. No chance it makes a whole season.
Which leads to the problem with Free Agents. It has a superior writing staff anda cheaper show considering the cast.. but it follows Up All night and that will make it DOA.
Prime Suspect carries on throught the year, no problem.
