The DICTR murals I saw going up in downtown LA last week:

Pretty impressive. They were being handpainted by two guys. You can see how freaking big the murals are when you note the scale of the human figure on the scaffold thingy. About four days after this photo was taken they were almost finished; they must have spent about two weeks painting.

I'm sure this kind of thing goes on all the time, but I was impressed by the scale of the exercise and the canniness of the concept.
