New episode will be airing next week 4/11 and a new episode the week after that 4/18.
When the actor playing Stabler decided to leave the show, the actresses playing Benson announced that she would appear in this season for just enough episodes to pass the torch to the two new detectives.
They had scheduled for Benson to appear in a handful of episodes and then get promoted and leave the show.
After a few episodes into this season, the actress playing Benson decided to stay with the show. The episodes written about her being promoted and leaving had to be reworked or scrapped. The episodes that were already written after that without Benson had to be scrapped or reworked to include Benson as the lead detective.
The Andre Braugher and Harry Connick episodes were supposed to be leading up to Benson leaving SVU. The climax of that storyline will be shown next week.
The first rewritten/reworked episode will be shown the following week.
