There are the Federal elections: President, Representative (Congressman) , Senator
State Elections: Lower and Upper chambers (Nebraska has only one chamber) ; Governer and various Statewide elections which vary by state...Such as Controller, Attorney General, etc
Local Elections: Mayor, City Council, other officials such ans Comptroller, District Attorney, Etc.
Then there are Questions and amemdments.
Not all are on the ballot every year. Some get staggered into the 3 years that there is not a Presidentilal election. (NYC votes Mayor next year and Statewide the year after, for example) But, generally, all are contested on the same Election Day in November. It is expensive to open the polls multiple times.
The point of the ad was to NOT ignore other elections. I am sure that Bridget McCormack may have serious problems getting elected because of people ignoring her contest/
