Seems almost quaint now.
Paranoid politacal delusions and ideological ghost-chasing aside, if everyone has not realized it yet:
Big business does not care about YOU or your job. They care about your MONEY. They want to sell you a product. The problem is that we in America are spolied by "low prices" and generally speaking will search as best we can for the lowest price on things we want.Ā
This creates a race to the bottom to see what business can provide the goods people want at the lowest price with the highest profit margin. Guess what: that will NEVER be achieved in the long term using American labor for most consumer products. In other words, the American consumer's shopping habits have contrbuted in a significant manner to companies using overseas labor to manufacture their products, and the government has enabled this through poor choices on taxation and tariffs.
You want American people making commodities and products for Americans? Pony up the dough for it, or quit complaining, because every time you shop at Wal-Mart, you're a bigger part of the problem.
