Wondering about a joke from Sean Saves The World
Happened to catch some of this show for the 1st time last night and there was a joke that surprised me. First, if you dont know, this is a NBC sitcom about a single gay dad raising a teenage daughter he had.
So to set it up, Sean is at home with his two co-worker friends and his daughter. She is off to her first boy/girl party; he is having a man over for a first date. On her way out, Sean tells his daughter about self-defense, showing her kicks to the crotch and a punch to the neck. His exact wording was "Remember: groin, groin, throat!"
She leaves, and he turns to his friends, with a grin and says "And if I'm lucky, for me it will be throat, throat, groin!"
Now I am not offended or upset at all, just curious because this seems like the edgiest joke I have ever heard on network tv in the 8 o'clock hour. Of course, networks have been pushing the envelope, but this one stood out.
So just wondering, joke OK, not OK, or meh?
