It just seems silly to have such a tempest about finding the reddest neck you can dredge up and then being shocked
 and outraged when they make a relatively mild redneck comment. A&E has made buckets of money by displaying these people as what they are now condemning. Its like an old carnival show where you decide the boy raised by monkeys should be punished for flinging poo at the crowd. My guess is the whole reaction if not the original comments are just cheap PR.
