no, he said he wouldnt have made it as a comedy. chaplin dared much. but its true nobody wanted him to make that film....and today it listed
as a national treasure because he was right all along...regardless of what people think of chaplins life, the man was a cinematic genious, and a visionary....i would just love to hear his opinion on cinema today....i dont think he would be complimentary....but thats only one guys opinion
