"I've only ever loved one woman...Your sister!" I'm loving how they are translating the books. They knew going in that they were in trouble
when they had to start covering book 4. And they have done an amazing job of covering for it. I actually think the next season will be better than I originally expected (and that's not due to story becasue I've read them and, if the show-runners/directers/whoever hadn't planned ahead for that incredibly boring 4th book, they would have had a problem on their hands. As it is though, I think they can make 2 compelling seasons with what is already written. Like you said though, will Martin have even put out book 6 by the time season 6 or 7 is over? Gosh, I hope so.
If you want good reading on an epic scale from a guy that does deliver on time though, check out The Passage by Justin Cronin. Book 2 came out last year and book 3 (final book) should be out in October. Anybpdy that loves this kind of story-telling (even though Cronin's story has absolutely nothing to do with swrods and scorcery), will love those books on talent alone.
