I did not attend but I did go through Austin, TX Monday and back through today (Thursday). We have fallen into the same trap for two seperate trips.
My boys really enjoy San Antonio and I am a HUGE basketball fan, so the River Walk is ideal for my family on Spring Break. Any how; we got through Austin with relative ease on Monday night (12:00 a.m.). On our way back home today we hit the traffic from south of Austin to the north side of Waco, TX.
The point of this story is between the construction, larger city traffic and SXSW in is insane the amount of time it take to drive north through said cities. We tapped out in Ardmore, OK just from being so worn out. Travel time to cover the two cities about six hours. Advice: find anothe route it is virtually a parking lot!
On a side note, Baylor's new football stadium is freakin' awesome. I am happy for them b/c the Baylor basketball team (along with Iowa State) totally wrecked my bracket by the end of the first day!
Lastly, I am know in the process of adopting my two nephews (Boys age 14 and 7) so I have not been active on the boards but I try to do a little trading and reading everyday. Keep up the posts it is my break from a stressful reality. Oh yeah, my OKC Thunder have the Atlanta Hawks tonight. We have a lot of injuries but if we can make the playoffs; NBA fans will enjoy the product we will put on the floor.
Thanks traders!
