I dispute that.
The tracking has been pretty big for a while now and all the data was there, it just wasn't announced as "interpreted" to mean a possible $125M+ OW until yesterday. But as TWW said, there is also data to suggest that the OW won't be anywhere close to that mark. And tracking can be misleading as well, as TWW also said. Just because the tracking is through the roof doesn't necessarily mean that the OW is going to be as big as everyone is now speculating it to be, it just means that there's a lot of people who are definitely interested in seeing the movie. That could translate to a big OW, or it could translate to a small OW and long legs. The $95M OW warrant was more hedging based on my arguments above, the $125M OW warrant now is just ridiculously buying into hype generated by the studio and its "minions" (if you'll pardon the crude expression).
