Babymother premiered at the Dinard British Film Festival in 1998, and then made its North American debut at the Toronto Film Festival later that year.
The film chronicles a single mother who is bent upon becoming a singer, and who forms a reggae band with two other women.
Although success is an uphill battle, their band, Neeta, Sweeta, & Nastie, eventually makes some headway.
Babymother stars Anjela Lauren Smith, Wil Johnson, Caroline Chikezie and Jocelyn Esien.
The film is directed by Julian Henriques, who co-wrote the screenplay with Vivienne Howard.
