Description

Dark Blue World set box office records in its native Czech Republic when it opened May 2001. Set during World War II, the historical romance is about two Czech pilots serving in the U.K. Royal Air Force who end up in love with the same woman. Upon return to their Communist country, their lives have changed from their war experiences. Love triangle set during WW II is also the story behind this year's Enemy at the Gate and Pearl Harbor. Sony Pictures Classics distributes the film directed by Jan Sverak (Kolya) and written by Jan's father Zdenek Sverak. Dark Blue World will also screen at the 2001 Toronto Film Festival.
