Winner of Best Picture at the 1998 Austin Film Festival, La Cucaracha stars starring Joaquim de Almeida, Victor Rivers and Eric Roberts (EROBE). Roberts stars as a writer leaving everything behind and moving to Mexico to find inspiration for his next novel. When he arrives, he is robbed of all his money. When he meets another American expatriate, he finds a solution to his undesirable situation. All he has to do is kill the most powerful and wealthy man in the small town he as been unfortunate enough to get stuck in.
This picture will be the first film distributed by newcomer White Rose Releasing. Look for it in late March or early April.
Director Jack Perez also has the distinguished honor of being the director of the pilot episode of syndie-smash "Xena: Warrior Princess".
