Martin McDonagh was born in England to Irish parents. He began his career as a playwright before winning an Oscar for his first short film Six Shooter in 2006. He made his feature film debut with 2008's In Bruges followed by Seven Psychopaths. McDonagh then wrote and directed Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, which garnered seven Oscar nominations.
