Whisper Numbers: Mortal Kombat vs. Demon Slayer. Round 2

After a closer than expected battle for the top spot last weekend, Mortal Kombat [MK3] should have an easier time against its R-rated rival in their rematch. Mortal Kombat may lose around 55% of its opening and still repeat with a sophomore weekend near $11 million.

Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train [DSMMT] will likely derail quickly. Nearly $4 million of its opening weekend came on Thursday night. Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train could fall 65% in its second weekend to $7.5 million.

Godzilla vs. Kong [GOVKO.BW] should round out the top 3 with about $2.5 million.

Open Road targets horror fans with Separation [SEPRT]. The R-rated film looks to have genuine scares. The last horror release, the PG-13 rated The Unholy took in $3.1 million from 1850 theaters. Separation could creep out $2.5 million from 1751 theaters.
