Sony has released the domestic trailer for the sequel Paddington [PADT3], which apparently has shortened its title from the full international title Paddington in Peru. Ben Whishaw [BWHIS] voices the bear who returns home to Peru along with the English family that adopted him. Paddington opens stateside on January 17th.
Sony Pictures Classics has unveiled the official trailer for the drama The Outrun [OUTRN] based on the Amy Liptrot memoir. Saoirse Ronan [SRONA] stars as a woman trying to come to terms with her troubled past after living life on the edge in London. She returns home to where she grew up in Scotland’s Orkney Islands. Directed by Nora Fingscheidt, The Outrun opens in theaters on October 4th.
Becoming the highest grossing R-rated release in just 10 days, Deadpool & Wolverine [DEAD3] remained atop the podium with an estimated $97.0 million. The sequel held 46% of its debut to up its total to $395.58 million, surpassing the $370.7 million record held by 2004's Passion of the Christ.
Twisters [TWIS2] stayed at the second spot with $22.65 million in its third outing to advance its total to $195.59 million.

Amazon MGM Studios has released the second trailer for the thriller Blink Twice [PUSYL] written and directed by Zoë Kravitz [ZKRAV]. Naomi Ackie [NACKI] stars as a woman who gets invited to a private island owned by tech billionaire played by Channing Tatum [CTATU]. However, paradise has a dark side. Alia Shawkat, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Christian Slater, Kyle MacLachlan and Geena Davis round out the cast. Blink Twice opens in theaters on August 23rd.
Ketchup Entertainment has unleashed the official trailer for the actioner Weekend in Taipei [WKNTP]. Luke Evans [LEVAN] stars as a DEA agent who reunites with an old flame, played by Gwei Lun-mei, by chance while on a job in Taiwan and meets her son. Sung Kang [SKANG] co-stars as the villain in a reversal of their roles from the Fast & Furious series. Weekend in Taipei hits theaters on November 1st.
Bleecker Street has launched the official trailer for the sci-fi thriller Slingshot [SLNGS]. Casey Affleck [CAFFL] and Laurence Fishburne [LFISH] star as astronauts on a mission to Saturn’s moon Titan. As they prepare for a maneuver to use Jupiter to catapult their spaceship to their destination, one astronaut begins to lose his grip on reality. Slingshot hits theaters on August 30th.
Lionsgate has dropped the official trailer for the dark comedy Greedy People [GRDYP] starring Himesh Patel [HPATE] and Joseph Gordon-Levitt [JGORD]. Greedy People arrives in theaters on August 23rd.
Lionsgate has revealed the official trailer for the horror film Bagman [BAGMA]. Sam Claflin [SCLAF] stars as a man whose family is haunted and stalked by the titled monster. Bagman arrives in theaters on September 20th.
Dominating the weekend box office with an estimated $205.0 million, Deadpool & Wolverine [DEAD3] scored the biggest R-rated opening, the best July opening, and the eighth highest debut of all times. Nostalgic moviegoers ate up the action comedy which brought Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman to the MCU while closing out the Foxverse of Marvel superheroes.
Last weekend’s champ, Twisters [TWIS2] declined 57% in its second weekend to $35.3 million. The sequel stands at $154.93 million.

Jack Kesy stars as Hellboy while Adeline Rudolph plays a rookie agent for the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense. Written by creator Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden, Hellboy: The Crooked Man will hit theaters this fall.
