The main intended point was not political, other than using politics to illustrate Arnie's situation; concerning HSX, the point is that
HSX traders seem to be remarkably bullish on lowbrow spectacle movies (lots of explosions and killings and effects, not so much good writing or acting).
If I had thought of a comparison that worked better, I would have used it, but today's Republican Party seemed apt. Arnie's big on Hummers and big cigars and guns, and time appears to have passed him by. I loved Twins; I am not optimistic concerning Triplets. I liked Terminator and Total Recall and True Lies, but I never expect to see another Arnie movie that is as good or as popular. Younger actors are going to get the roles that could blossom into a Terminator, and I believe Arnie is no Clint Eastwood or Paul Newman, so he seems unlikely to ease into roles in which he can act his age.
