but my negativity comes with them celebrating a model which is full of recent failure while being critical of one thats working. Its the worst kind of PR. They havent set the world on fire. 

Bad Moms is gonna make some dough for them. But it was a struggle. They changed their whole strategy mid campaign when it was the simplest of campaigns. It has a very specific, very eager audience. Show them the movie is what they want. It's weird it was so hard for them. 

And they have bet a lot of Edge of Seventeen (especially giving toronto a bundle of money for the closing night spot) and moved it against the new Harry Potter movie. Does that seem insane to everyone else? Forget Desierto, they know that was a mistake and they arent giving it any support and have moved away from acquistions. Their other 2016 titles are genre and could both be profitable if they are well liked. 

So their first two years looks similar to Relativity, Open Road, CBS Films, Overture, TWC etc etc. Maybe a bit better cause of Bd Moms. I get why they are doing a puff piece now (Bad Moms, big hit, we rule!) but its also transparent. Its silly to be saying this stuff they are saying (the folks who will read this is mostly industry) when the jury is still out.

I think he's only talking about the time he was there - and while Universal had franchises during that time (Bourne, Meet the Parents, RogerMore Aug 16, 12:52
