if a bond has been in a long downtrend, the bounce will likely be more pronounced
basically, if there is a big adjust that is coming, everyone knows it is going to happen, so they get positioned correctly (short). post-adjust, everyone sees that there is a lot of trading and reversing positions and others try and get in front of that. hence, the bounce you speak of. it's basically players playing the players.
