Russell Brand done as a leading man??
Anyone still think he can carry a movie, or is he just better in a supporting role as a character actor?? Not counting HOP of course since thats animated.
Frankly i think given the right movie he could carry it. Something similar to Get him to the Greek. I believe Arthur was kind of doomed from the beginning. Too many people loved the original. It made over 100 mil domestic and won 2 oscars. When I think of Dudley Moore I think of his character Arthur the loveable drunk. By the time the movie came out I thought it may be possible that it would do what hollywood said it might. Between 15 and 18 mil. I should have stuck with my initial gut instinct. When I very first saw the trailer watching a recorded show i said, wtf was that.. I usually skip through commercials so I rewinded it and watched the trailer. MY first thoughts were, why the hell are they remaking this movie? Why is Russell Brand doing a non R-rated movie. And Why is Hobson a female? lol I started to buy into the hype and got a few chuckles from other trailers.
I think this movie is a prime example that Hollywood needs to think twice before remaking every movie thats been done. Whats next? A remake of Gone With The Wind?
