Just came back from the grand finals of touch football...
I had to help set things up (because I'm on the local touch committee), so I went to the playing fields at about 10:45am today. Once everything was set up, I was a referee for two games, Mixed D Grade at 12pm, and Mixed C Grade at 2pm. There was a bit of back-chatting to the referees in the C Grade game, but other than that, both games went really well. I had to help with the prizes for the different grades, and because I'm the treasurer of the association, I had to write out the cheques for the winners & runner-up for a few different grades. After that I sat back and enjoyed watching the other finals, some of which were very tight, but very well-played games. In the very last match, one of the players was sent off for swearing at the referee after repeated warnings. Once everything was finished, we packed everything up, and I went back home. Now I suppose I just have to deal with the mild sunburn that I received from my refereeing duties. All in all, was a really good day, and I really enjoyed it.
