so I hear people talking about UltraViolet for getting movies and have questions...
I see Family Video offers UV codes for films for only $2-$3, for which it says you can stream the movie instantly to your computer, smart phone, or tablet; and it permits you to download a copy to your computer.
So my question is, other than just not having a physical copy, or be able to watch it on my tv, how can this be such a great deal, better than paying $20 for a bluray? and how can hollywood be ok with this? how is anyone making money?
how about quality? number of times you can use it? there has to be a catch, no?

100% correct. If you do not have the actual disc all could be lost, hacked or timed out. I still buy blu-ray and CDs ... {nm} Jun 27, 10:27

If its family video, you are probably talking about a rental transaction vs a sell through transaction, so that price point is Jun 27, 13:54
