Actually, sometime between 2000 and 2008...
I sent a message to the local talk radio about waking up in a dream within a dream. I used the radio's message center and don't have a copy for myself. The idea was to wake up within a different timeline based on the multiverse. Specifically, a timeline where I would end up rich. Not just rich, stinking filthy rich. I still think there's a way to change the future by waking up at the right time in any dream. Sometimes even for the better. I have since discovered that 99.8% of the time when I wake up in a dream, I have to use the bathroom.
Between 2-8-2000 when Bob Collins died in a plane crash, and November 12, 2003, when I was falsely imprisoned by the City of Chicago, I wrote a joke per day and sent it to them. The jokes were to lift spirits, but I guess I should have sent them all to the police department instead.
I eventually jumped the shark. I've sinced lost my sense of humor and spent most of my time with everything but humor. Political rants. I issued the first "status update" on my mood, what I was thinking, and where I was. Also, comments about the talk show(s) and host(s).
If you find the missing sense of humor laying around, please forward it to my home address. I understand this is a common route for comedians.
So you see, there may have been an outside source to the idea of Inception. I however claim to have no knowledge of what jokes and ideas get deleted, stored, or sold. I've actually seen many scenes in many movies that could have come from one of my messages.

New Year's Eve in Yellowstone National Park:
The trip is still on. I lowered my rental car cost. The savings is enough to cover 20% of the total fuel expenditure for the trip. 4 nights, free food, OST, Canyon tour and New Year's Eve Toast. $627.26. I'll be entering through Flagg Ranch and the Tetons. There's also a chance for a side trip to Vegas. It's only $120 away, and I would like to bet a hockey parlay.
March Madness at the Rio, Las Vegas, Nevada:
During the recent heat wave and storms, I lost my power for two days. My sister put me up in a hotel for the 2 nights. I repaid her with a trip to Vegas. Fortunately, the hotel is free thatnks to the Total Rewards Card and 55,000 resort credits I won last year. The air is only $309 at the moment.
The reservation is made and I will be there for the 1st 5 days of March Madness. 64 games, and a chance to hit several 12 team parlays. My brackets are average, but the last 2 years, I've won the the 1st 20+ games in may brackets. $25.00 can get my $12,000.
