The Marlins have a history of crappy ownership- firesale after the 97 WS and the 03 WS, raking in the profits from revenue sharing while
fielding some of the lowest payrolls in baseball, being threatened by the MLBPA for not putting those profits back into personnel. And don't get me started on the current owner Jeff Loria, who prior to being given the Marlins, ran the Montreal Expos into the ground, thus allowing MLB to take the reins of that team for a few years before moving them to DC and turning them into the Nationals. He and Frank McCourt make bank off of debilitating their own franchises. *sigh*
