Just as a frame of reference, here are the QBS that could be protected as keepers and the draft pick lost to keep them
Philip Rivers - 2nd round (unlikely)
RG3 - 3rd round (no brainer)
Vick - 4th round (no way)
Cutler - 5th round (unlikely)
Brandon Weeden - 5th round (no way)
Matt Schaub - 6th round (no brainer)
Luck - 7th round (no brainer)
Dalton - 8th round (no brainer)
Fitzpatrick - 9th round (no way)
Alex Smith - 9th round (no way)
Joe Flacco - 10th round (unlikely)
Carson Palmer - 10th round (no way)
Jake Locker - 10th round (no way)
Josh Freeman - 12th round (no way)
Sam Bradford - 12th round (no way)
Mark Sanchez - 14th round (no way)
Matt Cassel - 14th round (no way)
Matt Flynn - 14th round (no way)
Russel Wilson (who I picked up as a UFA in preason and then cut over a bye week to pick up another TE, worst mistake I made all year) would go for an 11th round pick (no brainer)
So only Wilson, RG3, Luck, Schaub and Dalton would likely be protected, leaving a lot of great QBs to draft.
Keepers give us something to do during the long offseason!
