times...the irony of it all is that i dont even watch tv...at all...i go to my friends house to watch GOT and i bring the snacks and do the cooking since he provides the HBO...which he'll be canceling till next season (by the way my cooking isnt that big of a favor...more like a tolerance)....i dont think that the season 4 finale quite lived up to their claim of "best episode to date". to me the whole thing felt rushed and desperate to cram it all into one hour...seeing as how HBO has the biggest hit they ever had youd think they could spare the money for a 2 hour finale...still i didnt find much room for complaint...(SPOILERS AHEAD)...while jon snow is hardly my favorite character, i really liked how he and mance rayder sat down and toasted to ygritte...civility among enemies. then stannis crashes the party...it doesnt matter if you knew if it was coming or not (i did) its still really cool to watch it happen. and the zombification of the mountain begins. i loved watching cersei throw pycelle out of his own laboratory...hate cersei if you must (and most do including me) but pycelle is one you have to love seeing him abused (by the way did you know that the actor who plays pycelle is General Veers from the Empire Strikes Back?) daenerys's plot line, while emotional, was to short and abrubt... and then we move on to bran...the most boring character in the entire series...books or tv. again they kill of a character who isnt supposed to be dead...jojen reed...but they did it with style at least. then bran meets what appears to be merlin wrapped up in tree roots. yay. the big pay off for me was brienne running across the hound and arya. now in the books that doesnt happen...the hound gets sick from infected wounds and arya just leaves him there much as she did in the show, but that wouldnt have been very exciting on tv. as annoying and (what was the word Willroast used?)...insufferable...as brienne is, at least that made for a better show then him just getting sick. she just expected arya to open up her arms and trust her just cause she said she swore a vow? after all shes been through? and what was brienne gonna do...tie her to her horse and force her to come with her? oh wait she didnt have a horse cause podrick let them get away. the safety speech was great...brienne says i'll take you to safety and the hound says where the **** is safety? everyone she had in the world is dead. the thing i found sad was when brienne questions whether the hound is watching over her and the hound says yes thats exactly what im doing. i really think he was serious. they had both been through alot together and i think he was really trying to protect her. but at this point arya has become a little sociopath and just leaves the hound there to die. and as usual its podricks fault she got away (according to brienne). the end of the episode where arya sails off to braavos is book accurate. it was a great episode but it could have been greater if they hadnt tried to compact 2 episodes into one. im going to hibernate till next april now. later dudes.
