Richard Lovett

CAA is considered the largest and most powerful talent agency in the world, and Richard Lovett runs it. At 41 years old, he took over as head of CAA in 1995 after starting in its mail room right after college. Lovett has had a hand in the careers of nearly everyone involved with today’s blockbusters. Just take a look at his top client list; it speaks for itself.

Top clients: Will Smith, Jim Carrey, Tom Hanks, Nicolas Cage, Bruce Willis, Lindsay Lohan, Julia Roberts, M. Night Shyamalan, Steven Spielberg, and Ron Howard.

Best example of Hollywood agentry: He’s tricked the industry into believing they shouldn’t “fear” CAA, that way other agencies won’t see them coming when they snatch their clients. “It was a company that people were afraid of," Lovett said about CAA. “Maybe with the change of image it appears that we're not the fearsome machine we were."
