My brothers and I went out for a casual dinner and a local restaurant. Suddenly there was some loud commotion over by the kitchen door way. At first i thought it was going to be the waiter with our meal. But wait, this was no ordinary restaurant and this was no ordinary meal.
The main course starts off with a Curry Salmon at $160.00 and folowed by an 8 ounce Kobe steak served garnished with sauteed Matsutake Mushrooms at a mere 100 per ounce. Add the 37 dollar baked potato and Osetra Caviar at 40 bucks per serving and this was going to be one expensive dinner. The cost of entire spread would have fed starving children in several nations for months.
Even the rolls were 15 dollars each. Tutankhamun Ale – $52 per bottle and my brothers can pack this stuff away without taking a break. A 1996 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley $2,249. I was reminded of last year when a tray of sliced tenderloin steaks was knocked over by a busboy. And the year before when my other borther found a hair in his calimari. In 2005 Larry jambed a fork into Curly Joe's forehead. That was 4 hours in a hospital I will never forget.
I knew I was in trouble. We haven't even been served and already something was about to happen. I looked up. It was not the waiter with our course, it was a pie and it was heading straight towards my face. As I wiped the cream filling and bit of graham cracker crustand Venezuelan dark chocolate and heavy gold leafing from my face, I knew that dinner was going to be late.
