The owners even said in their announcements that many of them are based on complaints from the very top ports. I probably qualify as a "new player" still and I'm more demoralized by all the changes than I am by climbing the LTD rankings. With the very top ranks made up mostly of people who've been here from 5 years, 10 years or more I know I'm never going to reach the top 100 and probably never reach the top 1,000. I may never crack the top 5,000.
Under the rules in effect when I signed up though I felt I could make a respectable performance. Now? I honestly don't know. I can't play the Churn and the results of the new rules to date have been to destabilize prices, making it harder to tell if I'm doing well or not. You can see the results in the price graphs, they used to be mostly relatively smooth. Now they are constant up-down vertical zig-zags.
I'd settled on investing in Starbonds mostly. Now I'm suddenly seeing Starbonds that are heavily under-priced, to the point where the Star's next movie would literally have to earn NEGATIVE 5, 10, 20 million dollars to adjust to its current price, dropping steadily in price even further because of the Churn.
It makes no sense now! The changes are disconnecting the security prices from reality. There's no incentive to invest based on what you think the movies are really going to make because you can make so much more in the chaos of The Churn.
