Using (OUIJA) & (JWICK) as Examples, their IPO Prices were 15.00 (Strike Price). Now 14.34 the (JWICK) OW would give you a PROFIT if you had it LONG & the Actual OW Box Office on Monday was Greater than 14.34 (Conversely a LOSS if you had it SHORT). Less Commissions of course.
The CALLS & PUTS work slightly differently The OW, CALLS & PUTS all Cash Out based on the Actual OW Box Office. The 15.00 Strike Price for the CALLS & PUTS would yield a LOSS regardless of which way you held them if the Actual OW was greater than 13.00 or less than 17.00 because you would have Bought (or Shorted) them at 2.00. If you had Bought the CALL at 2.00 and the Actual OW was 15.30, the CALL would Cash Out at 0.30 (giving you a LOSS of 1.70 / Share).
Many HSX Players hold both the CALLS & PUTS LONG, especially with higher Priced Moviestocks. By using this Strategy, you are GUARANTEED a PROFIT if the Actual OW was 4.00 Greater than the Strike Price or 4.00 Lower than the Strike Price. An example of this was (GOTGX) where the Strike Price for the CALLS & PUTS was 65.00 with the Actual OW being 94.32 (LOSS of 2.00 on the PUT but GAIN of 29.32 on the CALL).
The ROTO Strategy for CALLS & PUTS for Small Ports (having been one) was to BUY both the CALLS & PUTS LONG late Wednesday and then SELL both late Thursday as in 99% of the cases, both rise. This yields a PROFIT with less than 24-Hour Hold and then frees up the Cash for other Investments with less than 24-Hour Hold (in order to grow faster).
Have Fun & Best Wishes.
