PopUp Ads - Cutting off your nose to spite your face?

I get that the site wants to generate revenues through ads. As such, I didn't use an ad blocker because I thought it was only fair to 'pay' HSX for the fun I was having on the site by allowing ads to show up on the pages.

The pop up ads are so intrusive and annoying, that (based on the feedback on the forums) I'm one of many to have had to resort to ad blockers to eliminate them, or else I would just have to abandon HSX altogether.

So my question for site admins: if the new pop up ads result in your client base to block ALL ads, or quit the game altogether, then how do you anticipate earning more money with them? Seems like the cashgrab of the intrusive pop ups will only cost you a bunch in the long run.
