Barefoot Bandit is based on the real-life exploits of Colton Harris-Moore. The teen lived a life of on the run in the Pacific Northwest by burglarizing into hundreds of homes. He even taught himself to fly and eventually was caught in the Bahamas. Dustin Lance Black (Milk) adapts the script from the book "Taking Flight: The Hunt for a Young Outlaw" by Bob Friel.
