Based on Garth Ennis' Top Cow comic book, The Darkness centers on a young hitman, Jackie Estacado, who inherits an ancient power. Prior to Jackie turning 21, he enjoyed an active sex life and participated in violent activities. However, in order to keep his new power, known as The Darkness, he must remain abstinent or it will be passed on to the next generation. The Darkness allows the young mobster to create anything, but his creations turn to dust by daylight.
