Warner Bros. is revving up a sequel to the Oscar-winning 2006 hit The Departed. Based on the Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs, The Departed centered on the Boston police clashing with the Irish mob. Although there is a sequel to Infernal Affairs, The Departed 2 will most likely delve into original material surrounding the character played by Mark Wahlberg. William Monahan returns to script the sequel.
