Rapper Ice T came to attention as an actor with his role in 1991's New Jack City as an undercover cop. Since then, Ice T has continued both his musical and his acting careers, at times combining the two.
In a deal made in late 1998 with indie production company Filmwerks, Ice T has agreed to star in, produce, and release the sound tracks under his label, Coroner Records, for a trilogy of "urban films."
These films, King, Corrupt, and The Wrecking Crew, will all feature hip-hop and rap stars. Ice T also shows his softer side by starring in the 1999 feature Jacob Two Two Meets the Hooded Fang, also starring Gary Busey and Miranda Richardson.
After his TV show Players was not renewed for the 1998-99 season, Ice T turned his attention to features, making five films in 1999 alone.
