Description

The coming of age drama Quinceanera won both the Dramatic Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. The film's title reflects the 15th birthday that marks a Latina's entry into womanhood. A young woman Magdalena approaching her 15th birthday is kicked out of her home for becoming pregnant. She moves in with an elderly grand uncle who also houses Magdalena’s gay cousin. Emily Rios, Chalo Gonzalez and Jesse Martinez star. Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland wrote and directed the film.
