Description

The Guys is based on a one-act play by Anne Nelson, the director of the international program at Columbia School of Journalism. Neslon helped a New York City Firefighter write eulogies for his lost comrades in the September 11 tragedy, and the play details her experiences with the firefighters. The play premiered in December 2001 featuring Bill Murray, Anthony LaPaglia, Tim Robbins, and Susan Sarandon. The film adaptation stars Sigourney Weaver and LaPaglia in the lead roles, and is directed by Weaver's husband Jim Simpson.
