Darkness falls across the land as moviegoers celebrated Halloween rather than patron theaters. Nightcrawler [NTCRW] collected an estimated $10.9 million in a virtual tie with Ouija [OUIJA] at the top of the weekend box office. The Jake Gyllenhaal vehicle attracted a crowd that was 56% males and 66% over the age of 25. Nightcrawler should enjoy excellent legs.
Ouija declined 45% in second weekend helped by Halloween. The horror film has grossed nearly $35.0 million.
Fury [FURY] finished third with $9.1 million to bring its total to $60.4 million.
John Wick [JWICK] dropped to sixth place at $8.1 million down 44% from its opening weekend. The actioner has shot up $27.6 million.
Before I Go To Sleep [BIGTS] nabbed just $2.0 million to finish oustide the top 12.
