Box Score: The Predator silences The Nun

With recent bad publicity and worse reviews, The Predator [PRED4] topped the weekend box office with an estimated $24.0 million.  The sci-fi reboot skewed 62% male and 66% aged 25 and over. 

Last weekend's champ, The Nun [THNUN] kneeled to second with $18.2 million.  The Conjuring spin-off tumbled 66% from its opening to bring its total to $85.1 million.

A Simple Favor [ASFAV] debuted at the third spot with $16.1 million.  The femme-thriller was well-received from moviegoers and should enjoy good word of mouth.

White Boy Rick [WBRIC] took in $8.8 million to open in fourth place.

Peppermint [PPRMN] dropped 55% in its second weekend to $6.1 million and the sixth spot.  The actioner has earned $24.3 million.

Unbroken: Path to Redemption [UBRK2] opened ninth overall with $1.4 million.  The faith-based sequel drew 56% female and 85% over 25.
