Taking advantage of its status as the only mega-wide new release this weekend, No Strings Attached scored an estimated $20.3 million. The romantic comedy starring Ashton Kutcher [AKUTC] and Natalie Portman [NPORT] attracted an audience that skewed heavily female at 70%. With good word of mouth, the film should hold up in upcoming weeks.
Last weekend's top film The Green Hornet [GHRNT] declined 46% to $18.1 million. Its total stands at $63.4 milllion.
The Dilemma [DILEM] tailed off 45% to $9.7 million, bringing its cumulative gross to $33.4 million.
The King's Speech [KNGSP] stayed in fourth place with zero drop-off from last weekend. The drama earned $9.2 million to advance its total to $58.6 million.
The Way Back [WAYBC] brought home just $1.5 million from 678 theaters to debut outside the top 12.
