With the nominations for the 83rd Academy Awards announced this morning, HSX traders once again demonstrated their collective predictive prowess. NominOptions were offered in the eight major categories and those Oscar nominations were predicted with a 89% accuracy rate.

HSX scored a perfect 10 out of 10 for 127 Hours, Black Swan, Inception, The Fighter, The Kids Are All Right, The King's Speech, The Social Network, Toy Story 3, True Grit and Winter's Bone.
BEST DIRECTOR
HSX batted 4 for 5 correctly forecasting Daron Aronofsky, David Fincher,David O. Russell and Tom Hooper. Joel and Ethan Coen was the fifth nominee over the trader's choice Christopher Nolan, who was snubbed once again.
BEST ACTOR
HSX was also 4 for 5 in this category getting Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg, Colin Firth and James Franco. Javier Bardem was the academy selection instead of Ryan Gosling.
BEST ACTRESS
HSX went 5 for 5 matching up Annette Bening, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
HSX predicted 4 out of 5 choosing Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo and Geoffrey Rush, but missed John Hawkes by favoring Andrew Garfield.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
HSX was again 4 for 5 selecting Amy Adams, Helen Bonham Carter, Melissa Leo, and Hailee Steinfeld. Jackie Weaver received a nomination instead of trader's pick Mila Kunis.
BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY
HSX nailed this category going 5 for 5 with 127 Hours, The Social Network, Toy Story 3, True Grit and Winter's Bone.
BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
HSX was right 4 out of 5 picking The Fighter, Inception, The Kids Are All Right and The King's Speech. Traders favored Black Swan when the nomination went to Another Year.
