Warner Bros. has unfurled a second trailer for the maritime adventure In the Heart of the Sea [HRTSE] on Apple. Ron Howard [RHOWA] directed the film based on the true story of the Essex whaling ship in 1820 when it was attacked and sunk by a sperm whale in the Pacific Ocean. The event was inspiration for Herman Melville's Moby Dick. In the Heart of the Sea reaches theaters on March 13th.
Closing out the fantasy trilogy wiith a bang, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies [HOBT3] topped the weekend box office with an estimated $56.2 million, totaling $90.6 million since opening on Wednesday. 3D screens accounted for nearly half the tally. The audience was 60% over the age of 25.
Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb [NMUS3] opened in second place with $17.3 million, well below the first two installments.

Warner Bros. has dropped the teaser trailer for the comedy Get Hard [GHARD]. Will Ferrell [WFERR] plays a white-collar criminal who has been convicted for fraud and is headed for prison. Wanting to get himself ready for life behind bars, he hires his carwasher, played Kevin Hart [KHART], who he believes is an ex-con to toughen him up before serving his jail sentence at San Quentin. Get Hard slams into theaters on March 27th.
Fox Searchlight has unveiled the trailer for the based on real events drama True Story [TRUES]. Jonah Hill [JHILL] plays journalist Michael Finkel who was fired by the New York Times for fabricating a story. James Franco [JAFRA] plays Christian Longo, who accused of killing his wife and three children, hid out in Mexico using Finkel's identity. After Longo is imprisoned,Finkel gets drawn into the strange and twisted case. True Story hits theaters on April 10th.
Focus Features has released the trailer for the period romance A Little Chaos [ALTCH] on Apple. Kate Winslet [KWINS] stars as a landscape designer who is selected to build one of the gardens at Versailles by King Louis XIV, played by Alan Rickman [ARICK] who also directed. Breaking down gender and class barriers at the court, she also gets involved with the resident landscape artist, played by Matthias Schoenaerts [MSCHO]. A Little Chaos opens in theaters on March 27th.
Delivering just an estimated $24.5 million in its opening, Exodus: Gods and Kings [EXODU] nevertheless ended the three week reign of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. The Biblical epic attracted an audience that was 54% male and 65% over 25 years old.
