The phenomenal word of mouth has pegged the film as a must-see event in 3D, which accounted for 80% of the box office. The audience will broaden as Gravity attracts the less frequent moviegoers. Gravity could lose than 40% in its second weekend and remain in first place with about $35 million.

Sony has dropped the full-length trailer for the based on real events drama American Hustle [AMBUL] directed by David O. Russell [DORUS]. Whereas the teaser had fun with the 1970s setting, the new trailer switches to a completely serious tone about a real criminal scandal while pitching the star-studded film for the year-end award season. American Hustle opens in limited release on December 13th before expanding wide on Christmas Day.

After his brother goes missing in the world of underground fighting, a steel mill worker decides to take matters into his own hands when the local police aren't able to solve the crime. Featuring an all-star cast, Out of the Furnace is the lone wide release on December 6th, the typical slow weekend after Thanksgiving.

Where as the Underworld series had vampires against werewolves, I, Frankenstein pits the original reanimated monster against... gargoyles?!
