MGM has revealed the teaser trailer for the horror remake Carrie [CARIE] based on the Stephen King novel. Chloe Grace Moretz [CMORE] stars as a shy teenager sheltered by her religious mother and bullied by her schoolmates to the point where she unleashes her telekinetic power on her small town during the senior prom. Carrie opens March 15th.
Five new releases were no competition for Liam Neeson as Taken 2 [TAKE2] stay atop the weekend box office with an estimated $22.5 million. The action sequel has banked $86.8 million in 10 days.

Warner Bros. has cut a second trailer for the period action drama Gangster Squad [TFGSQ] on Apple. Due to the tragic shooting in Colorado, the film took out the shootout set inside Grumann's Chinese Theater. The scene has been reshot in Los Angeles Chinatown as seen in the new trailer. Originally set to open last month, Gangster Squad will now arrive in theaters January 11th.
Sony has launched a second trailer for the killng Bin Laden drama Zero Dark Thirty [ZDTHR] on Apple. Kathryn Bigelow [KBIGE] directed the film about the decade-long manhunt for the leader of Al Qaeda leading up to the raid of his compound in Pakistan by the U.S. Navy Seal Team Six.
Even with high expectations heading into last weekend, Taken 2 [TAKE2] outperformed the competition by a wide margin. As with most highly anticipated sequels, Taken 2 was likely front-loaded by fans and headed for a 50% drop to about $23 million, which may be enough to hold off the slew of newcomers at the box office.

Their love story is set during the making of his most famous film Psycho. Scarlett Johansson [SJOHA] plays Janet Leigh while Jessica Biel [JBIEL] plays Vera Miles. Hitchcock opens November 23rd.
