It's not exhausting for me. I have a set strategy that I follow (details inside):
If a stock has a release date and will more than likely be a wide release, I long and stay long until nearer its release. If it is likely to be a limited release, I short and stay short. Most of those positions I "set and forget" until closer to their release dates, so they don't really need that much attention. With stocks that don't have a set release date, if I have identified them as a "slow bleeder", I'll short them and then forget about them until either I have a "spring cleaning day" of my port, or there is news on the stock. I generally don't long stocks that don't have a release date unless I'm fairly certain that they will receive one sometime in the near future, or they are high-concept stocks (such as a Pixar movie in development, etc). I play the news each day (usually buying stocks) and then near reset I flip them, then forget about them unless the news is big enough that the stock keeps going up for a second day, or there is more news on the stock.
Basically I don't really do that many trades each day, but generally from the positions that I've currently taken with different stocks, my port normally gains at least $3.5M each day.
I will probably quit daytrading once I reach 1 billion, might reset the port. It's exhausting running a big port... {nm} Mar 26, 12:36
