The weekend after Thanksgiving is one of the worst of the year. No matter how low expectations are, the openers seem to throw under.
Play the players. Everyone is expecting Christmas legs, and this can drive up prices for the openers.
Pay attention to what day Christmas falls on, for two reasons - obviously it impacts how the adjust is calculated, but also Dec 24 is a very low box office day, while Dec 25-26-27 are all big box office days, and this can affect the OW and the delist multiplier.

After Christmas, buy everything that's currently in theatres - the period Dec 25 to Jan 1 is very strong for box office.
